scam-i.uk (“the Site”, “we”, “us”) is an informational public-interest resource. It aggregates, indexes and republishes scam reports that have been (a) submitted directly by members of the public through our reporting tools, or (b) collected from publicly available consumer-protection sources. Each report represents the personal account, recollection and opinion of the individual who submitted it.
2. No verification or endorsement
We do not independently investigate, verify, fact-check or adjudicate the reports published on the Site. Labels such as “published”, “verified” or “community” describe the provenance of a report (for example, that it was sourced from a public consumer-protection tracker) and do not indicate that scam-i.uk has confirmed the allegations within it. The number of “additional occurrences” or comments attached to a report reflects user activity only.
3. Not an accusation
The appearance of any business name, trading name, individual, website, domain, email address, telephone number or location on this Site does not constitute an allegation, accusation, finding or determination by scam-i.uk that the named party has engaged in fraud, deception or any other unlawful or improper conduct. Legitimate businesses are sometimes impersonated by fraudsters, and their names or contact details may appear in reports for that reason. Readers must exercise their own judgement.
4. No legal, financial or professional advice
Nothing on the Site constitutes legal, financial, investment, medical or other professional advice, and nothing should be relied upon as such. If you believe you have been the victim of fraud you should contact your bank or card issuer immediately, your local police, and the appropriate national reporting body (for example Action Fraud in the UK, the FTC or FBI IC3 in the United States, or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre).
5. Accuracy, completeness and currency
Reports may contain errors, omissions, typographical mistakes, out-of-date information or subjective interpretation. Monetary amounts shown as “reported loss” are extracted from the report text as stated by the reporter and are not audited. We make no representation or warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability or timeliness of any content.
6. User-generated content
Comments, additional-occurrence submissions and community reports are posted by users without pre-moderation. They do not reflect the views of scam-i.uk. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to edit or remove any content at our sole discretion. See our Terms of Service for content rules.
7. Corrections and right of reply
If you are a business or individual named in a report and believe the report is inaccurate, misleading or refers to you in error, please contact us. We will review good-faith requests promptly and may annotate, amend or remove the report where appropriate.
8. External links and third-party sources
The Site may link to third-party websites, including the original source of a report. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content or practices of third-party sites.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, scam-i.uk, its operators, contributors and affiliates exclude all liability for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from your use of, or reliance on, any content on the Site. Your use of the Site is entirely at your own risk.
