By accessing or using scam-i.uk (“the Site”) you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy and our Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. The service
The Site provides a free, searchable public database of scam reports and tools to submit reports, record additional occurrences and comment. The Site is provided “as is” and may be modified, suspended or withdrawn at any time without notice.
3. Your submissions
When you submit a report, occurrence or comment you confirm that:
- the content is truthful, based on your own first-hand experience or knowledge, and submitted in good faith;
- you will not submit content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, obscene, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful;
- you will not include personal data of private individuals (such as home addresses, ID numbers or financial details) beyond the business contact details used to perpetrate the scam;
- you will not submit content for competitive, retaliatory or commercial purposes, or to impersonate another person;
- you hold the necessary rights to the content and grant scam-i.uk a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, reproduce, adapt and distribute it as part of the Site.
4. Moderation and removal
We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, edit, annotate, decline to publish or remove any content, and may restrict access for users who breach these Terms. We are not obliged to monitor content but may do so.
5. Acceptable use
You must not: scrape or bulk-download the database without written permission; attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems; introduce malware; use automated tools to post content; or use the Site to harass or intimidate any person or business.
6. Intellectual property
The Site’s design, code, compilation and original text are owned by scam-i.uk or its licensors. Individual report content remains the responsibility of its submitter. You may link to any page on the Site.
7. Third-party content and sources
Some reports are aggregated from publicly available consumer-protection sources and are credited with a link to the original. We do not control, and are not responsible for, third-party content.
8. No warranties
The Site and all content are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for purpose and non-infringement. See our Disclaimer.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, scam-i.uk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless scam-i.uk and its operators from any claims, damages or expenses arising from content you submit or your breach of these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
12. Changes
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
