Chase Bank scam

A bank/credit card company imposter scam report, targeting a consumer in Rocklin, CA, USA - 95765.

Narrative evidence

What happened

He begun the call saying that his name was John Wilson from Chase Bank. I thought it was suspicious that Case would call me from that number. He claimed that someone had opened an account with Chase Bank under my name and asked if I had noticed if I had lost some money in one of my chase accounts. I proceeded to say that I hadn't because I had just looked at my transactions earlier in the morning. He said that if it would be okay if he proceeded to close the account, which I said that it would be okay (at this point I already knew he was a scammer), This was his way to just ending the call. I believe that had I reacted differently he would have probably asked for my bank account to try to "authenticate" me for the call and then probably taken me a different path.
