What happened

Sept. 15, 2026 at 3:22pm I received a phone call that I sent to voicemail as it was an unknown 8xx nbr. The voicemail transcript: “has entered the... This is an important alert from fig lending verification department. Your loan has been moved into the final stage and requires verification. Your funding code is X785BY. Once again, that's X 785BY. The verification department is standing by. Please call us immediately before your funding code expires. This code is only valid for 24 hours after receiving. Please call immediately at 217-834-9517. Again, call this number. 217-834-9517. Thanks.“ I have submitted a loan request to anyone, any company or any service/ad but get messages for help with loans and tax problems (which I do not have). I have always let such calls from unknown numbers go to voice mail and report them as spam and scams, block and delete the 8xx number. I have never called any of the numbers (except accidentally hitting the 8xx number and immediately hung up) and have not spoke with anyone. However, this is the first time any message has stated that I am in the “final stage” and decided to report it due concern over the possibility of someone impersonating me to process a request.
