A debt collections scam report, targeting a consumer in MI, USA - 49401.

Narrative evidence

What happened

Contacted via email regarding resume on ZIPRecruiter. Asked to join Hangouts and conduct online interview. Given much canned info during interview and then asked for personal information; name, address, etc. Including the bank in which I use. Was told I would need to purchase equipment and a check would be sent for that step. Then received an email with an "offer letter." Realized after the online interactions that this was a scam. Notified the "scammer" via Hangouts and they disconnected. However, still received the "offer letter." Contacted my bank to make them aware. Will NOT download the offer letter and/or respond to the email. The email address should have been a clue, as it was a gmail.
